Dear Midtown Businesses, Colleagues and Friends, Work, shop, entertain, and live – because of your contributions to our area, Midtown’s become a wonderfully vibrant and diverse and a magnet for visitors from all over the nation. We appreciate your ongoing commitment to invest in Midtown as it continues to develop and improve. By joining the Midtown Business Association, you are working with a wide range of private and public organizations as well as individuals to realize Midtown's full potential as the region's best mixed-use neighborhood and one of California’s great destinations. Your MBA consists of businesses, city officials, and investors working together to solve the unique challenges we face in Midtown and make the most of our many opportunities. We encourage you to become an active member, attend MBA's meetings and events, and participate in one of MBA's standing committees. Membership benefits include: - Advocacy and policy-making at all levels of government and in the community.
- Regular updates on the MBA website about activity going on in the neighborhood, and proposals and projects under consideration which could impact your business.
- Implementation of a property-based Business Improvement District (PBID), which will provide improvements in the areas of parking and transit, security, graffiti and trash abatement, marketing and image enhancement. Our Midtown PBID begins this year, providing a 5-year management plan and a long-term, stable funding source to establish new improvements, programs and activities.
- Development reports and updates on current and future projects at our monthly Board meetings. More information can be found at the calender and news links near the top of this page.
- Participation in events such as the annual Membership Dinner, Second Saturdays, Midtown Trick or Treat, seasonal festivals, and quarterly mixers.
